What drives the price of a livestream?
Four things set most of the cost:
- Number of cameras. One camera covers a single speaker at a podium. Panels, awards and moving presenters need two or three angles, and each added camera usually means another operator. See multi-camera event production.
- Hours of coverage. A two-hour board meeting and a six-hour general session are very different days for a crew.
- Graphics. Speaker names, sponsor logos and formatted slides take preparation time before the event. See event presentation graphics.
- The venue's internet. A dedicated wired line is the reliable option. If the venue doesn't have one, a satellite connection such as Starlink adds cost. See event internet and Starlink.
What do typical livestream packages include?
| Package | Typical event | Cameras and time | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Board meeting, town hall, single keynote | 1 camera, up to 2 hours | $3,400 |
| Professional | Conference general session, panels, training | 2 cameras, up to 4 hours | $5,800 |
| Executive | Multi-session conference, awards, product launch | 3 cameras, up to 6 hours | $9,300 |
All three include a technical director on site, live switching with your slides and the program recording. Events booked before January 1, 2027 are 15% off.
What livestream costs are easy to miss?
- Venue fees. Many hotels charge for a dedicated internet line, power or a connection into their sound system. Ask for these in writing early.
- Multi-day events. Each additional day adds crew time, though setup is usually lighter on day two.
- A hosted viewing page. Streaming to YouTube or Zoom is simple. A private, branded page with registration or Q&A costs more.
- Recap content. A short highlight video or photos are add-ons, but they are often the most reused piece of the whole event. See event photography and recap video.
Is it cheaper to livestream a conference ourselves?
A laptop on a tripod costs almost nothing, and for an internal check-in it can be enough. The trade-off is what remote viewers experience: one wide angle, room echo and slides they can't read. For a convention, a paid conference or a leadership message, the production is what members and employees remember.
What should I ask for in a livestream quote?
- Number of cameras and operators
- Hours on site, including setup
- Who supplies the internet line, and what happens if it drops
- Whether the event is recorded on site separately from the stream
- Exactly what you receive afterward, and when
Livestreaming a conference in Myrtle Beach
Most conventions here are at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, the Grande Dunes and Kingston resorts or the Sheraton. Each has its own in-house AV rules and internet setup, so a site walkthrough before the quote is final saves surprises. Spring and fall are the busiest meeting seasons, so book early for March through May and September through November.
